REDOING GOD'S WORD?????????

Writer's picture: Samuel & Jamie HernandezSamuel & Jamie Hernandez

I've been reading Gods word a lot lately and asking myself tons of questions! I said, " Self, what do you think this means?" Why did David loose his son, why would God kill him? Why did Samson loose his strength and dignity? Why did Ananias and Sapphira get smote immediately? Why was Michal, King David's first wife barren all of her days? What kind of God allows this?

God's word says:

The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Psalm 34:16

ALSO:

My God will cast them away,

Because they did not obey Him;

And they shall be wanderers among the nations.

Hosea 9:17

I have heard that God is all love and He would never do anything to hurt us, that his plan is to prosper us and not harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Well, that is TRUE!

So, how can God say on one hand that he plans good for us and yet so many bad things happen, or life doesn't go as I planned? Why don't we just take what we want from scripture and leave what we don't? Right? or fix His word that it sounds and fits to what I want it to say? Right.........?

NO!!!!!

We are not going to redo God's word to fit us because it IS PERFECT but we are going to redo how we think and what WE do! It is time to stop blaming God for everything and confess our sins and make our selves right with HIM, before HIM and for HIS use! All the people mentioned above had the problems they had because of their own actions, lust, greed, doubt and oh how much the power of the tongue played in each case. He says:

Depart from evil and do good;

Seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their cry.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Psalm 34:14-15, 17-22

Wake up church body, those of us that call ourselves followers of Christ. We are called to live holy and righteous lives for Him and like Him. DON'T BE COMPLACENT! We are called to be set apart not go with the flow, never be satisfied with, well I'm a good person, or so self righteous that God can not work in you. I am speaking from experience and just feel the urgency to share that God has great plans for ALL of us if we choose to truly surrender our lives to Him and REPENT of all our sins.

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not

belong to Christ. Romans 8:9

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing

may come from the Lord, Acts 3:19

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Romans 8:1

We live in a broken world not because of the first fall of man but because of the continuing fall of man! We daily have the choice to decide how we will live and what kind of outcome we will have. Now let me be clear on this, there are time when there are accidents and we suffer because of the fault of someone else life for example Bathsheba and David. It wasn't her fault, David sinned and sadly she was the one who also bore the grief. Here, I am talking about fault of our own.

So today if you hear His voice do not harden your hearts as you did during the rebellion. Hebrews 3:8 but instead

But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Duet 4:29

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

James 4:10

May God bless you today as you seek Him with all your heart!
